Subject: Urgent: Request for Letter of Support to support professional development program
Hello,
Landscape Ontario is currently in the process of applying for a Canadian Ontario Job Grant – Upskill Program grant that is provided by the Ministry of Advanced Education & Skills Development.
As the economy improves and employers continue to be challenged by a critical shortage of skilled labour to serve current and future client needs, we see an opportunity for our employers to gain access to subsidized professional development training to build capacity within each firm.
The program will focus on the following 4 key pillars:
These programs will provide knowledge and strategies to empower employers in our industry to effectively develop and retain current employees and attract the future workforce.
If we are successful in obtaining this grant, the training sessions would be provided to our industry across Ontario at a subsidized cost. To increase our success with our application, we are reaching out to you as employer in the industry to provide a letter of support for this initiative no later than Thursday August 22nd, at 4:00pm.
How can you help?
We ask that you please take 10 minutes to
1) Copy, paste and edit the attached draft template letter onto company letterhead.
2) Complete the highlighted areas with your information.
3) Identify which programs your firm is interested in participating in, and how many potential staff would be in attendance if offered over the winter months of 2017/ 2018.
4) Please print, sign, scan and email back to jagibson@landscapeontario.com.
